JLR – Atelier de Replicas, a reference company.
In 2005 the Atelier de Replicas was formed, dedicated exclusively to the execution of replicas for Museums, Archaeology and Sculptures.
Through the experience gained between 1980 and 2005, José Luís Russo, decided to create JLR- Atelier de Replicas, developing its activity with museums and archaeologists, proposing the execution of replicas, to replace original pieces or for sale in museum stores. Also with sculptors who wished to make multiples of the works they made.
Many replicas have been made for museums, with both purposes, and their success has gone beyond borders. This studio has already executed works for museums in Portugal, Spain, France, Sweden, South Korea, and Macau.
In a new phase, and seeking to give greater visibility to the work carried out, he approached the municipalities and institutions with the purpose of providing his collaboration in the execution of replicas that could enhance cultural, archaeological, and museological spaces. The municipalities were also proposed the creation of replicas from public sculptures on a reduced scale that could be offered at various events and public acts.
It has been on this path that JLR – Atelier de Replicas has established itself as a company of reference in the work of reproducing sculptures in polychrome polyester deserving the confidence of its domestic and foreign customers.
Currently the JLR – Atelier de Replicas, is now represented by Hugo Rodrigues that will continue to develop activity on the technical advice of José Luís Russo, continuing to support all its customers.
“No one ever wrote or painted, sculpted, modeled, built or invented except to get out of hell.”
